Bush Shoot Out

Bush bashers beware! The Bush shootout game you find online does not let you shoot President George Bush. Rather it is more of a role playing game with you at the helm as the 43rd President of the United States. Yes, that can be rather disappointing to all those Bush haters, but if you have a sense of humor, then the Bush shoot out game is just mindless fun.

The premise is that you are the Prez and you have to shoot away a mess of terrorists’ intent on capturing the White House. The Bush shoot-out game is rather cartoonish and campy and you just need a mouse to point and click the bad guys away. Basically this game is a satire and allows you to be up front and center on it.

The Bush shootout game features a denim jeans wearing President with a leather vest, boots and a huge belt buckle. When he hears of the terrorists breach, he hits a bright red button and his own automatic rifle emerges from his desk. He’s ready to kick butt! You never know who exactly the terrorists are or what they want. It’s all about shooting the terrorists before they can take over.

When you play the Bush shoot out, you get the sense that President Bush is an army onto himself. Does this game try to insinuate anything else in this depiction? Who knows? Every person who plays the Bush shoot out will come away with some different message, depending on the outcome.

Of course, within the second part of the game comes the President’s Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice coming to his aid. In addition, any Secret Service agents that get caught in Bush’s crossfire lose points for the player. In addition, with the addition of Condoleeza, you have two players to control with the click of your mouse.

In the Bush shoot out game, there are two endings – one in which the President prevails against the terrorists and the second when he loses the fight. Both endings leave a message to the player about terrorists and war. For some people who play the game over and over, it will take a few tries to knock the terrorist van with explosives out of commission before it blows up the White House.

The fact of the matter is that the medium in which the message about war and policy is delivered is ingenious. While kids may not get it (they go for the action), adults should get it. Grown-ups are the intended target with the subtle innuendo about American policy against terrorists and foreign countries being somewhat jaded and satirical in nature.
